Angie Martinez leaves Hot 97 allegedly to go to rival Power 105

In a move that sent a jolt to the airwaves and destined to realign the course of Hip Hop radio in
New York City, Angie Martinez resigned from Hot 97 and is reportedly switching to rival station
Power 105.
Martinez, the legendary radio personality who has held down the number 1 time slot in the
afternoon for over 15 years announced via Instagram that she was leaving her long time post as
the voice of afternoon radio.
Oddly enough when her departure was announced on Twitter, Power 105 retweeted her
announcement with a smiley face fueling speculation that she had signed with the Clear
Channel subsidiary. Bossip has announced that she has signed with Power 105.
