Clooney is Officially off the Market

It’s official! Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor is single no more! Sources confirm that George Clooney,

52, proposed to British lawyer, Amal Alamuddin, and she accepted. “George and Amal are trying to keep

things very low-key but they also aren’t really trying to hide this, it doesn’t seem. I think it’s like they

want the people they love to know this is real, that they plan on being together forever,” the source

explained.

Alamuddin, 36, is not Clooney’s typical type of woman. Earlier this year a source revealed, “He’s with

someone who is a very accomplished attorney. She isn’t someone who is pursuing a career in acting

or entertainment. She’s on his level.” That is certainly true! Alamuddin is a successful attorney who

specialized in human rights and international law; she represented Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and

is currently an advisor to former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. The beautiful barrister was born in

Lebanon and grew up in Great Britain.

The couple was recently spotted dining at Malibu restaurant Nobu with Cindy Crawford and her

husband, Rande Gerber. According to witnesses, Alamuddin was wearing a massive ring on her left ring

finger. Actor Edward Norton approached the table during dinner and the happy couple gushed, “We’re

engaged!” as Norton congratulated them with kisses and hugs.

The couple has been dating for only seven months; however the romance seems to have been serious

from the get-go. The gorgeous couple first got together at a dinner party in October 2013. There’s no

doubt that their shared dedication to global human rights and work for the United Nations helped

to form the bond. The relationship got more serious as the couple vacationed to the Seychelles and

enjoyed a safari in Tanzania.

This recent engagement is surprising news to some, as Clooney revealed his thoughts on marriage last

year, “I haven’t had aspirations in that way, ever. I was married in 1989. I wasn’t very good at it. I was

quoted as saying I’ll never get married again pretty much right after I got divorced and then I’ve never

talked about it since.”

It looks like Amal has changed George’s mind! Congratulations to the happy couple!
